Inviting Chuo University Expert, Magister Manajemen FEB Unud Examines Honda’s Strategy in an International Guest Lecture
To strengthen students' global insight into the strategic dynamics of multinational corporations, the Magister Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, held an online Guest Lecture on Monday (June 16, 2025). The lecture focused on the Applied Strategic Management course, featuring international speaker Prof. Kimura Tsuyoshi from Chuo University, Japan.

Discussing the topic "Emergent Strategy: A Case Study of Honda Motor Co.", Prof. Kimura examined how adaptive strategies that evolve gradually can be the key to competitive advantage. Through the Honda case study, he explained the profound differences between planned (deliberate) strategies and those that emerge as a response to environmental changes (emergent).

The activity, attended by 75 participants, was highly interactive, with students divided into breakout rooms to discuss the implementation of flexible strategies at both local and global levels. Lecturers of the Applied Strategic Management course were also present to facilitate discussions that provided new perspectives for students in understanding organizational culture and adaptive leadership typical of Japanese corporations.
This initiative is part of the Magister Management Study Program's commitment to continuously improving academic quality and strengthening international networks to produce competent graduates in the global business arena.
